Logier now runs on Linux. Starting with v1.11.0, every release ships a .deb package for Debian, Ubuntu and their derivatives, alongside the macOS and Windows builds.

Why Linux#

Many of the log files Logier is built for come from Linux machines. Until now, reading them meant copying them over to a Mac or a Windows PC first. With v1.11.0 you can open them on the machine you already work on.

Installing#

  1. Download the .deb from the Download page.
  2. Install it with apt: sudo apt install ~/Downloads/logier_1.11.0_amd64.deb
  3. Launch Logier from your app launcher, or run logier in a terminal.

apt pulls in any missing dependencies. Sign in with your Logier account and your license is active. There is no key to paste, and the same license covers all your machines.

What's included#

  • —The full application: format detection, clustering, the timeline, anomaly detection and Copilot
  • —Logier in your app launcher, with its own icon
  • —Logier under "Open With" for .log and .txt files in your file manager
  • —logier:// links that open straight in the app

What's different on Linux#

Updates are manual for now. On macOS and Windows, Logier downloads new versions in the background. On Linux, install a new release by downloading the newer .deb and running the same apt command. Your settings and license are kept.

Only .deb for now. If you're on Fedora, Arch or another distribution and want a package for it, let us know through a feature request.

To uninstall, run sudo apt remove logier.
